All photos were taken by my son, Fernando, in Barcelona, last month.

PS: Eduardo P. Lunardelli, from Varal de Ideias, inspire us to take clotheslines's pictures any place we see them.

  4. So interesting to see "wash on the line" once again, we almost never see that here in Los Angeles anymore...(I used to see this as a child, of course, back east...) But Washer/Dryers are everywhere now and so in this City, one never sees this except on very rare occasions....I love these pictures!
Didn't your son take pictures of Clothes lines in Italy, too? I seem to have a memory of that...

  5. Sonia, these are very interesting pictures and perspectives. The clotheslines are good subjects which can be photographed in so many beautiful ways. The second image, with all those signs, reminds me a bit of my NoTav pictures series!
    Have a great weekend! :-)

  6. These are great photos. I love my clothes line in the back yard. There is nothing like sleeping on sheets that have been line dried.

  7. I remember the clothes lines from last year.
I loved them then and I love them now - great photos.
I can't believe how teeny tiny those balconies are.

  8. I like the detailed balcony railings too.... this is part of Barcelona that most tourists don't see. I would think that the sunny Barcelona weather will make short work of drying the laundry!

Adorei!

  10. Each owner of a clothesline is lucky, in my opinion. I wish I had one!

  12. Xavi,
First of all you have a great blog with wonderful photos!

About your comment on Clothesline Post, I must to say that my son (last month) and also my husband (many years ago) went to Barcelona and both loved the city so much. They think that Barcelona is gorgeous and a wonderful city! I am a great fan of the art of GAUDI and my son took many photos of his masterpieces.

About clotheslines's photos in Barcelona, there are no intent to show up the uglyness in the city, but only to show up picturesque scenes. I like clothelisnes photos, and my son took many clothelines photos when he had been in Venice. If you have the time, you can see, clicking in Clothesline in Venice I; Clothesline in Venice II. You also can see other post I show up many clotheslines around the world, Here.

I also think that tiender la ropa al sol es ser ecológico and I always do that in my garden too.

Finally, very soon I will post many beautiful photos of Barcelona. Really, I would love to know Barcelona someday!

    Have a nice week ahead.

  15. I spent a few days in Barcelona last year but the weather was not good enough to put the laundry outside!

Eduardo P.L. ensinou-me a gostar deles.

O teu espaço está perfeito como sempre.

    Abraço

Boa semana! Beijus

  19. É varal para todos os lados.
    É á vida em movimento, o sol, a roupa limpa e seca, é a cor.
    Gosto desses ângulos nas fotos.

  20. Hello Sonia !
Not very nice. I know Barcelona a little bit.
IN the small villages in Spain and even in the south of France it is the same thing and I think in Italy too.

  23. Different views than the ones you mostly see from Barcelona, but I really like them, especially the first one is fantastic!

So your sone travels quite often to Europe! When are YOU coming?

  24. I was in Barcelona in March 2009 and I have to say, it was one of my favorite vacation spot. The place is beautiful and the people are so nice.

I love the photos here by your son, Fernando. He captured the scenery of Barcelona perfectly.
