I did this post in March 07, 2006 but I think it's worth to have a second look on Ecological Day. This time I will post here the name and the links of the participants on Ecological Day in order to provide the visitation between all them. A series of Landsat satellites have imaged the Earth's surface for nearly thirty years, providing data for applications in business, science, education, government, and national security. The Landsat satellite currently in orbit is Landsat 7. These images are actual pictures of the Earth, created by printing visible and infrared data in colors visible to the human eye. Band combinations and colors were chosen to optimize their dramatic appearance. Many of the satellite images we see have very different colors than the ones we are used to seeing with our own eyes. Lena Delta Asia, in Russia: The Lena River, some 2,800 miles (4,500 km) long, is one of the largest rivers in the world. The Lena Delta Reserve is the most extensive protected wilderness area in Russia.
Parana River Delta, in northwest of Buenos Aires: The Parana River Delta is a huge forested marshland about 20 miles (32 km) northwest of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The area is a very popular tour destination. 
Araca River, in Brazil: Brazil's Araca River is a tributary of the Negro River, which feeds into the Amazon.
Guinea-Bissau, West Africa: The Guinea-Bissau is a small country in West Africa. 
Namib Desert, Namíbia, Africa: Namib-Naukluft National Park is an ecological preserve in Namibia's vast Namib Desert. Coastal winds create the tallest sand dunes in the world here, with some dunes reaching 980 feet (300 meters) in height. 
Malaspina Glacier, Alaska: The tongue of the Malaspina Glacier, the largest glacier in Alaska, fills most of this image. The Malaspina lies west of Yakutat Bay and covers 1,500 sq mi (3,880 sq km).
Ganges River Delta, Bay of Bengal: The Ganges River forms an extensive delta where it empties into the Bay of Bengal. The delta is largely covered with a swamp forest known as the Sunderbans, which is home to the Royal Bengal Tiger. 
Volga River Delta, Eurasia: Where the Volga River flows into the Caspian Sea, it creates an extensive delta. The Volga Delta is comprised of more than 500 channels and sustains the most productive fishing grounds in Eurasia. 
West Fjords, Iceland: The West Fjords are a series of peninsulas in northwestern Iceland. They represent less than one-eighth the country's land area, but their jagged perimeter accounts for more than half of Iceland's total coastline.
