What a WONDERFUL idea, Sonia....These are ALL so Beautiful. That first one, particularly.....The arthitecture is stunning....But all of these Bandstands are just delightful!
ReplyDeleteI wish we had more of them here....! I know there are some, but I cannot recall any in Los Angeles, that I have ever seen pictures of....
It says a lot about how important "community" is, and how important "music" is, too...!
Thanks for sharing these, my dear.
What lovely photos! These bandstands are such pretty structures. I wonder if they are used much?
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog. It's always nice to meet new bloggers and I'm glad you liked my post. Thanks for the compliment :)
ReplyDeleteThey are all beautiful! There used to be many of those here in the US, but they seem to have fallen out of favor since I was a child.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea to show these... one more beautiful than the other! Thanks Sonia - and Carlos!! Still any bands playing there now and then?
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful collection of bandstands! My favorite is the coreto no Jardim da Luz. :)
ReplyDeletemust be really nice on Sundays!
ReplyDeletewow. a lovely place to laze all day. the mood is so subdued that i can imagine myself just casually strolling in it. thank you for sharing.

These are wonderful photos of very picturesque bandstands in your marvelous city.
ReplyDeleteThe palm tree in the previous post is magnificent Sonia. How fortunate you are to be surrounded by so many wonderful trees!
beautifull photo's photos of very picturesque bandstands, Dothe public use these stands to sit and relax, my favorite is the top one but there all diffent and beautifull
ReplyDeleteA fascinating theme with some remarkable architecture. What a wonderful experience to hear the music and also see the beauty of the bandstands!
ReplyDeleteWow these are great photos of different gazebos
ReplyDeleteMusic is obviously very big in your culture for there to be so many band stands. Nice shots
ReplyDeleteSonia, when you came to my sites you were welcome. When I came here to follow you "home," I was delighted. I wish all of the world could have the beauty of your pictures and the welcome of our hearts and the delight of knowing you. Have peace in your life and live it long!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gazebo's. I love the 2nd photo you have posted.
ReplyDeleteUm património a perservar.
Beijos para você
Thanks so much Sonia, for your kind words....I would love to see The Oscars with you, too! I wish I could actually see more from my deck than I can, but whatever I CAN see, is kind of fun.....! I think I am a "Peeping Tom" at heart when it comes to The Camera....LOL...(A terrible confession....!)
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather holds here and that the predicted "rain" doesn't happen! We'll see.
Sonia, the architecture where you live is stunning. So many old, beautiful buildings and colors...it's not like here in Florida, where they just bulldoze the old to make room for new and often ugly strip malls and condos. It's sad, too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link on the sidebar. I hope your readers will join us! :)
I love when you have an idea to showcase one certain topic! These are wondful...such a beautiful place you live!
Sonia, Thanks so much for the invite to your blog...I sure want to visit Brazil now that I have a small taste...
ReplyDeleteCheers,
Scotty
Adoro coretos!
Fique bem!
These are beautiful....very colorful.
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures as always.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen so many bandstands before. They are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThey demonstrate the importance of music and public entertainment back in the early 50s and 60s. It's unfortunately that we don't have those anymore.
Beautiful
ReplyDeleteLove Jeanne ^j^
ReplyDeletebjs
Sonia:
Bjs,
Cris
What a beautiful collection of bandstands!! I love them!
ReplyDeleteI wrote a post on Australian bandstands and created a link to your post. Many thanks.
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say the Australian bandstands weren't nearly as colourful and as exotic as the ones you photographed. Do you have the dates when yours were built?
