Your mother was a fantastic craftsman. Her work are truly incredible. Did you inherit some of her artistic talents in weaving?
ReplyDeleteThese are so lovely and so interesting. I can imagine a museum liking to own some of them!
ReplyDeleteCara Sonia,
ReplyDeletepodemos dizer, com propriedade, feitas por "mãos de fada"!
Lindas
Abraço
These are so unusual and so very unique----your mother was a true Artist with needle and thread....Actually, I am not even sure that is how these are done....lol....But however she created them, they are very very Beautiful! I remember you showing some of your mother's 'art'...it was a long time ago....It's great to see them again and see more than before.... She was incredibly talented!! It must be so meaningful to be surrounded by these very special pieces of Art!
ReplyDeleteMãos de fada realmente! Lindos trabalhos, bela mistura de cores, tudo lindo! Adorei ver! bjs, chica
ReplyDeletehow neat!!! the tree one is especially fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a talented lady your mother was. I really like these wall hangings. Have you inherited her creative talents? I tried weaving some wall hangings but I decided that It was not "my thing"!

ReplyDeleteOh, Sonia! What treasures you have that adorn your house! I love them and also love the photo of your mother. Lovely bright colors in the wall hangings.
ReplyDeleteThose are amazing, she was very talented. I'm always impressed with people who can make things with their hands.
ReplyDeleteThey're all beautiful, but #5 takes my breath away. As does your house, by the way. It's as though your mother designed that tapestry to hang in this very place.
ReplyDeleteYour mother was a true artist. I didn't realize how huge that one was until the picture with her in it. It is interesting that the striped ones are very similar to Swedish folk art, rugs and table runners. I have a couple of them made from rags of our clothes by a old farm woman back in the 1960s, apprpriately called "rag rugs.".
ReplyDeleteSonia: Not only are your mothers weavings beautiful and eye catching but your mother too is a beautiful and gorgeous. I love her name "Antoinetta" too !
ReplyDeleteThank you all my dear friends for your lovely words to my mother and for her works!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry I did not inherit my mother's artistic talent and ability in weaving...
My mother gave me some lessons and I only did a poncho for Sofia and Fernando, not more than that...
It was not "my thing" too! :)
With your mother standing next to the pod piece, it occurs to me how large it is. Very ambitious and inventive the way she kept the fringe hanging. It's my favorite, although I like them all.
ReplyDeleteThese tapestries are very fine and interesting, Sonia. Your mother was a true artist, so talented indeed.
ReplyDeleteMany greetings!
Beautiful tapestries! What a gift...
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing them with us.
I love these tapestries so much, Sonia.
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have them.
I especially love the first one.
Thank goodness you have high ceilings!
Do you do any tapestries yourself?
Happy weekend to you, Sonia!

ReplyDelete"My mother had fairy hands" - ...I loved reading that - and wow - so much talent and a beautiful lady. I really liked seeing these - I could have picked that one right off the wall and walked out. The trees.!!
ReplyDeleteHi Sonia - they are so beautiful ... I admire your mother's creations - and lovely to see her too. Sadly I can't be near or wear wool (and many materials) but I love seeing things ... these are stunning ... very clever -no wonder you're proud of her ... cheers Hilary
