Eu estou muito contente e agradecida à minha querida amiga Brenda que postou um belo Tributo à minha amada Flora, em seu excelente blog "A Scratch Behind the Ears (and other nice things)".

Brenda, from Western North Carolina, USA, and her good friends Lucky and Lady after a hike in October 2010. I have much pleasure to introduce my friend Brenda to all my readers:
Brenda loves dogs and cats and she has three lovely dogs, Lady and the siblings Lucky and Katie and a cute cat named Lucy. Brenda also had a lovely dog named Jessie, who died in June 2004, which is sorely missed. Brenda tell us that she loves birds and all creatures great and small also included guinea pigs, gerbils and fish. She takes amazing pictures of their pets, birds, flowers and even bears, and her text is very well written too. Brenda wrote in her blog that : "My life has always been populated by dogs and cats. There has never been a time when my floors were free of dog hair, or the windows of my home sparkling clean and free of nose prints."
When I visited Brenda's blog for the first time, I was very impressed with their cutes dogs Katie and Lucky, at first because both looks like so much with Flora, in the face! Don't you think they are resembling with Flora? Also I was extremely fascinated for the amazing story of adotion of these lovely siblings.

Katie and Lucky have a beautiful story of adoption and love. Now, the two brothers live a happy life, with the companion of their good friends Lady and Lucy, all them surrounded by much love and much care from Brenda. I invite you to know their lovely story: Lucky's Story, Part I and Lucky's Story, Part II.

A great friendship! "Katie and Lady have become two peas in a pod. And so it goes - what Lady does, Katie does. What Lady won't do, Katie won't do. Two stubborn peas in a pod. But what funny, sweet peas they are. Thelma and Louise."

Brenda said about Lady: "One of the things I find most endearing about Lady, a German Shepherds, is her desire to be close to me. As close as possible." And so it goes - what Lady does, Katie does. What Lady won't do, Katie won't do. Two stubborn peas in a pod. But what funny, sweet peas they are. Thelma and Louise."

Brenda said about Lucy: "Every office should have a cat. When heart rate and blood pressure were monitored during a simulated stressful situation (...) those with pets fared much better than those without. Bottom line, cats are good for the health of your heart! (They are also good for the warmth of your lap.)

Brenda said about Jessie: "Jess was one special dog, wrote Brenda on the post: "Jessie, Wonder Dog of the North". More than just a dog - she was a kind, wise and wonderful soul. Even though she's been gone 6 years now, I still think of her often."
Thank you Brenda, from "A Scratch Behind the Ears (and other nice things)" for the beautiful Tributo to Flora!
This exchange warms the heart. Dogs are the universal language, aren't they?

That was such a nice tribute, Sonia. I loved seeing all those pictures of Flora, especially as a puppy. I don't think I've seen them before. Time passes so quickly. In 3 weeks, Rufus will have been gone a year. Incredible to think of it.

ReplyDeletewe love our little stella-marie more than words can express. she's everything and i do dread the day she isn't with us. my sympathy goes out to you.
OH my goodness Sonia!!!! I am speechless too!!!! With my impending move my days have become nonstop, and the amount of time I have to check my favorite blogs has become almost nonexistent. So here it is Thursday, and I am just now seeing this amazing post that you did about my blog and the happy furry family of Lady, Lucky, Katie, and Lucy!!! Thank you so much! How unexpected, and how sweet! :)
ReplyDeleteWriting about Flora last weekend really got me thinking about Jessie. Tomorrow is her birthday and I am going to try to do a post for her. One of your commenters "altadenahiker" made a great observation - that "dogs are the universal language." I could tell that you feel about Flora the same as I felt about Jessie. No matter where we are, what part of the world, or what language we speak... many of us do have this in common, that very "special dog." I am happy to share this with you. We were lucky, weren't we, to have had them in our lives? Your daughter Sofia dropped by to visit my blog this week - she sounds just as nice as you! :)
It has been great to "meet" all of you. Thank you again for this amazing post - what a delightful surprise to see tonight!
P.S. Your header photo is priceless!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post, Sonia! Many beautiful and expressive dogs, and the cat is amazing too! I'll be glad to visit Brenda's blog!
ReplyDeleteHave a pleasant weekend :-)
What a beautiful post to our best friends our dogs and tribute to Flora, even a lovely cat is included:)

Here is a poem for you my friend...
The dogs who've shared our lives.
In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.
Old habits still make us think
we hear a barking at the door.
Or step back when we drop
a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be,
And, sometime, coming home at night,
we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends
and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in our hearts belongs to them...
and always will.

Linda demais, forte demais, emocionante demais.
Li
