Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara - Stone Town - 5 September 1946 – London - 24 November 1991) was a British musician, best known as the lead vocalist and a songwriter of the rock band Queen. As a performer, he was known for his flamboyant stage persona and powerful vocals over a four-octave range. As a songwriter, Mercury composed many hits for Queen, including "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Killer Queen", "Somebody to Love", "Don't Stop Me Now", "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "We Are the Champions". In addition to his work with Queen, he led a solo career, penning hits such as "Barcelona", "I Was Born to Love You" and "Living on My Own". Mercury also occasionally served as a producer and guest musician (piano or vocals) for other artists. He died of bronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS on 24 November 1991, only one day after publicly acknowledging he had the disease.
Freddie Mercury compôs muitos dos sucessos da banda, como "Bohemian Rhapsody", Somebody to Love, "Love of My Life" e "We Are the Champions".

haha! a freddie mercury fan are we? i love his music too! i don't think the current crop of young performers can compare lyrically or musically to the OLD ones. wonder if they'll have the same kind of longevity as well.
ReplyDeletemaybe i'm just old to be thinking that :p
What a GREAT GREAT Performer he was...So much Talent and so much HEART!!! What A Fantasticv Djowman he was. So sad that he died so very young...Another of the many incredibly terrible losses from AIDS related illnesses in the late 1980's and early 1990's.....
ReplyDeleteI wish they had the words to those first two songs at the bottom of the Video, as they did on the second one. I have a hard time understanding all the lyrics!
