My grandmother Rita and my grandfather Felício were my role models, my idols. They were lovely and adorable person. We was very close and we loved each other so much. Ever since I can remember, both had always been there for me and they were my inspiration. They both were talented teachers, loved each other so much, had four childrens and also they were dedicated parents and grandparents. My grandmother died at the age of 88 and my grandfather at the age of 96. They were truly a remarkable human being. This post is my homage to them.
What delightful photos from the past Sonia. And what a handsome couple!
ReplyDeleteLove that brass headboard too :)
What a lovely tribute to your grandparents. You were lucky to have them with you for such a long time and they as well, to have you cherish their memories.
ReplyDeleteAvós! Amados e adorados sempre. Very good! Wonderfull! I remember my big friend, grandfather and idol, Mr. Eleutério Lopes.

ReplyDeleteI hope you write more about them...I would love to read more, my dear.

Eram deliciosas, nunca mais me esqueci disso.
Eu adoro fotografias antigas. Tem um sabor de tempos calmos, vividos,...
Um abraco e bom fim de semana
Meu avô também se chamava Felício.
ReplyDeletePerdi-o cedo.
Você fez-me recordá-lo com saudade.
Obrigado por isso
Jorge
Nice tribute to your Grandparents, Sonia. Your Gandmother was very pretty. On last week I posted about mine http://du-four-au-jardin-et-mes-dix-doigts.blogspot.com/2008/11/p-comme.html.

ReplyDeleteSonia, querida,
ReplyDeleteadorei o quarto do vovô Felício.
Beijos e bom domingo!
Bela homenagem aos seus avós.
ReplyDeleteTambém recordo os meus com saudade.
Beijo,
Milouska

This is a great tribute to your grandparents, Sonia. And what beautiful photos.
ReplyDeleteSonia, to be begin with, thank you for your lovely comments on my blog and I'm so glad you found it! This is a lovely tribute to your grandparents and I love the photos! Your grandmother was a very beautiful lady. I know you must have many beautiful and loving memories of them both.
maris.
Your grandparents sound very wonderful. Very nice photos of them. Thanks for sharing with us.
ReplyDeletePaz

Sonia, they are a very handsome couple. Your grandfather looks very neat and trim and your grandmother looks thoughtful and kind. I can see even from old photos why they are your idols.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE old photos, there's something about them that tells a thousand story. I have my grandparents wedding photos, they are my favourite :D
ReplyDeleteI remember having seen these photos before and remember especially the one of your grandfather, maybe especially because of the decoration around him! Charming, looks rustic, but so nice!
ReplyDeleteI think you have well chosen your idols!
I like your grandad's stripey socks!
ReplyDeleteNow I see where you got your good looks from! They were handsome people.
ReplyDeleteI love the toilette stand in the photo of your grandfather.
You took after your beautiful grandparents. LOVE the photos!
ReplyDeleteSonia, my dear....Google has a "translator" link so that if you wrote something in your native language, I think, we could all translate it into English.....I'm not positive of that, but I think that is correct....Whether the translations are true to the nuances of each language---Well, THAT, I do not know.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, it's just an idea to encourage you to write about your dear beloved grandparents in more detail, my dear.
I notice the man on the bench is gazing into space and the woman is talking in his ear! In Italy as in Australia!
ReplyDeletehi Sonia! great tribute to parents!!
ReplyDeleteLuis
