LIFE AND DEATH OF A BEAUTIFUL TREE

I took this photo at my neighborhood, in July 2005. This beautiful tree was at this time vigorous and healthy. As a result of some root disease, the tree beginning to die.

Yesterday we had a day of violent gale and storm.

Unfortunately that tree was too weak and fell down after a day of very heavy winds and rains.

Sonia, it is such a shame to see a beautiful tree like that fall prey to disease and storms.

That must have been a really bad storm to topple such a large tree! Hope you didn't have any other storm damage!
((hugs))

Sonia,
acho o máximo morar em um lugar chamado "Enseada azul". Muito chic?
E lugar propício para fotos incríveis como as suas ...
Curtir a natureza, acompanhá-la, ver a árvore bonita e depois morta ...
Beijos!

Very sad aqbout that Beautiful Tree, Sonia..How wonderful that you have a picture of it when it was upright and seemingly healthy...!
It is always so sad when trees die....And the sky in your pictures is really scary looking...(BEAUTIFUL PICTURES by the way....)
Do you get these big storms with heaby heavy winds often, there where you live?
I don't like it when Nature scares us!

Lovely story, or shall I say tribute to a beautiful tree. I also wrote about a tree in my blog today - very different from yours though.

Very sad to read about your beautiful tree. Some winds are so strong, they topple even the the things that look invincible. Your skies look much like ours lately. A lot of wind and rain.

Such a lovely looking tree. However it is all part of the cycle of lifeand other life forms will benefit from the rotting trre.

Hi. I had a woman from Americana stay at my house here in Boston while she was trying to learn English. I have always had fond feelings for Brazil since then.

Tous ces arbres sont très très beaux !
Quelle puissance , quelle beauté !

Mais , ne comprenant pas bien l'anglais ...est ce une tempète qui les a fait tomber ?

Wow! These are awesome photos -- really capture the ominous quality of the storm!

Assim, morta pela própria natureza é triste e tolerável, dentro da normalidade do ser vivo que um dia morre.
Agora, o que acontece na cidade de São Paulo, é um crime, que acompanho diáriamente. A própria Prefeitura é sempre a primeira a cortar as árvores.

Trees give definition to a place. I remember when a tornado hit Charleston, SC several years ago and destroyed all the old oaks in the center of the town - the whole city mourned the loss.

But, Sonia ... you live in an awesomely lovely place - beautiful photos!

Oh Sonia, I hate that happened. That poor tree! Oh mother nature can seem so cruel sometimes but I imagine she has her reasons.

How beautiful and sad!

You are just in time - today is the deadline - to submit this to the blog festival of the trees, if you feel like doing so: http://festivalofthetrees.wordpress.com/

Oi,Sonia!

I'll be renting "The Straight Story" thanks to your write up about it. Sounds great.
