Delicate flower on the trunk (in my neighborhood)
Cajeput (Melaleuca leucadendron) The trunk is so soft to the touch, like the softest of leathers or cork. ( in my neighbor's garden)
"Cipó" around this big tree (at street in Enseada Azul). "Cipó" is how we call that kind of long roots which lives suspended on the trees. Did you remember Tarzan sliding on trees? Tarzan loves to swing with that...
Pinus Elliotis (in my neighborhood)

Stunning! I love the art of a tree.
ReplyDeleteBEAUIFUL, Sonia. The beauty of nature is undeniable...all these trunks are very very beautiful, and I love that they are right there, all around you. Stunning pictures, Sonia...Never kmew the name of those wonderful things that Tarzan used...!
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful works of nature! I think trees are so awesome and I have never seen some of the ones you have posted. Thanks for sharing these Sonia. Lovely pictures as always!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to be surrounded by beautiful, mature trees such as these. The bark is fascinating and so are the entwined roots. Lovely photos!
ReplyDeletewow, you have some great trees in your neighborhood. I miss the beauty of the tropics.
ReplyDeleteI love the one that looks like it's peeling, i've seen that before I think.
ReplyDeleteMelaleucas - I knew it as soon as I scrolled down the page. Melaleucas are often used as street trees in Australia, our neighborhood is filled with a much smaller variety than the one you show in your photo. And it's so soft to the touch, like the softest of leathers!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first arrived in Australia in 1974, you used to see "paintings" on sheets of this kind of bark for sale in the big department stores. Bits of twigs, leaves and other parts of the tree would be arranged and fixed onto the sheet of bark to form pictures of the Australian countryside. The one I have shows a rustic cottage under a tree with some hills in the background. I'm so glad I bought one because I haven't seen them for many years.
Many thanks for your nice comment, dear friends WENDY, NAOMI, RACHEL, PAM, TABOR, HEATHER, CONNIE and ROB, VAL and HELEN.
ReplyDeleteVAL thanks for explain to us about the trunk, so soft to the touch, like the softest leathers or cork.
Fascinating pictures Sonia. You do a wonderful job with your camera. So interesting to see your surroundings.....so different than ours! Gorgeous trees!
ReplyDeleteI love the trees. Very interesting photogrphy of trees and theirs corks. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful trees! Is the flower an orchid?
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh you are sooo talented! I am jealous beyond belief. I will be back soon to look around some more. Thanks for stopping by my place earlier. Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI love the warmth and color your site brings...and I always learn something.
ReplyDeleteExceptional tree trunks! I want to swing as Tarzan did. Each & every tree is a beauty--what a neighborhood of trees you have. Nice textures--can't get over the flower on the tree.
ReplyDeleteSonia. Another treat - thank you for sharing these photos with us. I love that first picture with the flowers on the tree trunk ... magical.
ReplyDeleteMany thanks for your kind words, dear friends KERRI, PIERRE, RURALITY, JENNYPENNY, DEANA, JUDITH AND MARY!
ReplyDeleteRURALITY, I think that flower on trunk is an orchid.
What great trees!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a girl living in Honduras, my friend had a palm tree in her backyard. I miss the tropics--trees here in the North East of the US can be so boring. Except for sycamores and ginkos...
Sonia-- It is so great to see the trees there, that you see. Your photographs are lovely. The trees look magnificent, so huge and old.
ReplyDeleteCool tree photos, Sonia!! And can I tell you, I really wish I were in Brazil right now, instead of cold, snowy Chicago.
ReplyDeleteSonia, do those orchids grow on the tree like that? I have seen it in Hawaii, but I didn't know they did it in Brazil too.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I thought that meleleucca only grew in Australia....live and learn! LOL
Les écorces de ces arbres sont magnifiques !
ReplyDeleteCes arbres paraissent vivants !
It's snowing in Pittsburgh ... so a visit to your blog was doctor's order! Sun, sky, warmth, flowers, flowering trees ... marvellous!
