ReplyDeleteMy favourite is "Man seated by a Window" I don't know why really, there's just something about it, perhaps his connection with the outdoors.
ReplyDeleteSonia you must tell some background to that amazing banner photo! So intriguing.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Rose

ReplyDeleteYou're back -- you've been missed! I'm a huge fan of Marcel Duchamp -- for his art, of course, but also for his humor. And Cezanne. Thank you for posting, and we'll wait for word on the banner.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sonia I followed the link and read about Matej Kren (fascinating).

ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of paintings. I love reading, it's one of my favorite things, whether it's a paperback book or an old classic on my Nook. I can get so lost in a book and completely forget about my sometimes frustrating life!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea for a post! I really enjoyed it and will go and check out that other blog. You know I like books and reading the best of all.

Such lovely pictures of readers!
ReplyDeleteI love reading almost as much as taking photos.
Greetings and love from New York.
Buster says hi!
Imagine what life was like BEFORE books!!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you reading at the moment, Sonia?
Hello Georgia and Letitia,
ReplyDeleteI have the habit of reading many books at the same time... This year I had been reading many books.
Now there are three on my bedside table:
1) "Too much happiness: stories" by Alice Munro. Just great stories! (In Portuguese, means "Felicidade Demais".)
2) "Sunset Park", by Paul Auster, the same title in Portuguese. I had been reading many books of Paul Auster. Love principally "The Invention of Solitude" ("A Invenção da Solidão") and "Timbuktu". Timbuktu is about the life of a dog, Mr Bones, who is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his homeless master is dying. Love it!
3) "Please Look After Mom", by Kyung -Sook Shin. ("Por favor Cuide da Mamãe".) Reading this author for the first time.
That question of you both give me an idea of a post!

ReplyDeleteThanks very much for your several kind comments today!
ReplyDeleteAnd so I'm back here. You have such a lovely blog. Looking at these paintings, one is again convinced that calling them "masters" is not misguided!
