When I photographed these wheat's fields below, on the road that leads to Avaré city, (near my house), I remembered that beautiful painting, by the great American realist painter, Andrew Newell Wyeth (July 12,1917-January 16, 2009). This painting, named Christina's World is the most famous work by Andrew Wyeth. Painted in 1948 this tempera work is displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. It shows a woman named Christina Olson, who had an undiagnosed muscular deterioration that paralyzed her lower body, dragging herself across the ground to pick flowers from her garden. She is the subject of a number of other paintings by Wyeth.
Quando eu fotografei estes campos de trigo abaixo, à beira da estrada que vai para Avaré, (perto da minha casa), lembrei-me desta linda tela pintada pelo famoso pintor realista norte-americano, Andrew Newell Wyeth (12 de julho de 1917-16 de janeiro 2009). Esta pintura, chamada Christina's World, é a obra mais famosa de Andrew Wyeth. Pintado em 1948, este trabalho pode ser visto no Museu de Arte Moderna de Nova York. Ele mostra uma mulher chamada Christina Olson, que tinha uma deterioração muscular não diagnosticada que paralisou parte inferior de seu corpo, o que a fazia arrastar-se pelo chão para colher flores de seu jardim. Ela é o tema de uma série de outras pinturas de Wyeth.
