The solitude and tranquility that I enjoy in my garden and at the beach near my house not only allows me to think, it allows me to dream.

Often "solitude" is associated with "loneliness", to express the painful of being alone, a negative state. But "solitude" can be a positive state, it is where we are perfectly happy to be by ourselves. "Solitude" can also provide to us peace, tranquility, reflection and inspiration. Often we feel this special moment when we're alone connected with nature.
For the writer Henry David Thoreau, the author of "Walden or, Life in the Woods, 1854", "solitude" was the ultimate means to reach a
point of reintegration of oneself. What Thoreau means by “solitude,” is not "loneliness" or "isolation", but
rather self-communion and introspection.
"Solitude" é um estado de privacidade de uma pessoa, não significando propriamente o estado de "solidão", com o sentido de "isolamento", de tristeza por estar sozinho.
"Solitude" pode nos propiciar paz, tranquilidade, reflexão e inspiração. Muitas vezes sentimos este momento especial quando estamos sozinhos nos conectando com a natureza.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love solitude at times, and it's something I never feel when I'm visiting New York City.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are so lovely. I love my "Me" time, my solitude times....it's a time when I pray...when I just BE...I think we all need our alone time.
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful and quiet. And relaxing.... we all need that special time to sink into calm thoughts and meditations.
ReplyDeleteWe all need a little solitude in nature. Good for the soul and the heart.
ReplyDeleteWow, what an incredible back yard! I love the sky in your last photo.
ReplyDeleteVery peaceful. I've been thinking a lot about you lately -- Brasil is in the news every day. But here's the thing about the news, or our news, anyway: They have a tendency to make everything sound worse than it is. I hope you're well and safe.
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your world there. So beautiful and tranquil. Yes to solitude.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post today - for the most part I love my solitude ... and then once in awhile or more than that - quite often, the discontent voice of the ego comes along to tell me i'm lonely and should be sad that i have not made more friends in life because I wanted my space. I try to quickly shut it up and get back to enjoying solitude and nature. Have a beautiful day in your solitude. I love where you live. I've often thought of becoming an ex-pat and moving to another country - mainly south or central america.
ReplyDeleteSo peaceful. I love solitude... :) You live in a beautiful place, Sonia!
