If I look out my bedroom window right now, I will see these beautiful flowers, named Plumeria, which common name is Frangipani and Jasmim-manga in Brazil. Plumeria, is a genus of flowering plants of the family Apocynaceae. It contains seven or eight species of mainly deciduous shrubs and small trees. In tropical regions, Plumeria may reach a height of 30' to 40' and half as wide. They have widely spaced thick succulent branches, round or pointed, long leather, fleshy leaves in clusters near the branch tips. Sensitive to cold, leaves tend to fall in early winter since they are deciduous. They are native to Central America, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America as far south as Brazil but have been spread throughout the world's tropics.

What a wonderful bedroom view!! I would enjoy waking up to that indeed! I think I've asked before forgive me for not remembering...do they smell?
ReplyDeleteWhat an incredible bedroom view - it looks so exotic and tropical to these eyes! All we see is brown as we haven't had much rain in months, and almost no snow yet this year.
ReplyDeleteI've seen the lovely flowers in Hawaii, where they use them for leis. I had no idea the trees get so big!
ReplyDeleteLove frangipannis. The ones on our street aren't blooming yet but soon. They're all white though. The orangey pink ones are my favourite. I also love your masthead picture. What a perfect tree! X
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice way to wake up in the morning and start a new fresh day with full strength.
ReplyDeleteI saw that first picture and thought.."Ahhh The Beautiful Plumeria....!"
ReplyDeleteThey have them in Hawaii and I think they are such a GORGEOUS Flower and they smell so lovely, too! How wonderful, dear Sonia, to wake up to this special plant/tree, right outside your Bedroom Window...!

Hello Sonia, how lovely of you to stop by and visit my site, the view from your window is divine, and how well I know the sweet intoxicating smell of frangipani! I am from the tropics.
ReplyDeleteGood wishes.
que linda! thanks for stopping by:)
ReplyDeleteI remember as a child Frangipani being my very first favourite flower. They smell so beautiful. You are so lucky to have one growing outside your window.
ReplyDeleteI'm envious of your view! A kind of plumeria will grow around here, but it's strictly an annual, and never gets very big. I think we're too cold for it, even in summer!
ReplyDeleteAcho lindas Sonia
ReplyDeleteTenho-as por aqui por perto, nas minhas caminhadas .
Uma árvore florida e garbosa,não sabia o nome,
bem apanhada Sonia
abraços e boa noite
