I love the subway series. Interestingly, not one kindle among them. I'm reading Game of Thrones 1st book (finally) ... on the kindle :) X
ReplyDeleteIsn't it wonderful to see people are still reading BOOKS---Actual Books! HOORAY! And on the Subway yet....! Great series of pictures Sonia. Thanks for this lovely post---I truly DO think it is great that people are reading so much. It renews my faith in the importance of the Printed Word, and that people still want to feel a book in their hands, as opposed to a 'device'.
ReplyDeletethese photos must be from the 90s. Love em
ReplyDeleteI love this theme!! So much better to see people reading a book instead of checking out iPhonesI Yup, no kindles or nooks, either!
ReplyDeletegostei bastante do post mãe!!
ReplyDeletenão importa a hora, lugar ou década, sempre é tempo de ler um bom livro :)
beijos!!!
Nice post, I love reading. I usually have one book going purely for entertainment and one more serious one. I just finished an in-depth biography on Abraham Lincoln published in 1913 that included lots of interviews with people who personally knew him. Now I'm reading an old Conan story for fun, and the Bhagabad-gîtâ. All on my Nook where these old classics are available for free since copyright is expired!
Estou lendo "The Power Broker: Robert Moses and the Fall of New York" de Robert A. Caro. Fabuloso!

I love the subway reading series too. Reminds me of New York City. The people look happily engrossed with their books. I like books. Have a great weekend Sonia.

What a good idea! People reading books in public places always make me curious, "What's book is that?"
ReplyDeleteI like your blog, I'll keep exploring this blog. Have you read a book from Belgian author?
Regards from Belgium
Hallo
I use to ride the bus from Brookville to Dayton which took about 40 minutes. That was my time to read. Then I moved and stopped taking the bus and it's been hard finding time to read... but now I arrive at my work place about 45 minutes before it's time to work and grab a diet coke at the muffin shop and sit there to read. I love to read. Thanks for sharing the great pics.
ReplyDeletegreat shots! wonderful idea! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd what are you reading, minha querida? (Did I say that right?)
ReplyDeleteMagnificent theme and pictures! Read and learn is the last thing that people stop doing, at least voluntarily. (I hope)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these books but I used to read on the way to work in the subway: such a good time...
ReplyDeleteSo nice to see some people not using only their iPhone, iPods, iPads... ! :-)
ReplyDeleteSonia, I'm back to tell you that this post of yours and another of a Minnesota blogger have stimulated me to begin a reading theme today for Monday posts. Check it out and tell me what you think because I value your opinion. Have a good week!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful series. Each reader is so absorbed in his or her book. The joy of reading is universal, isn't it?
