Love the flock of little black birds who visit my garden frequently, to feed on the ground and eat insects and seeds. I don't know its name and I would appreciate if someone could help me to identify them.
Lindo!beijos, chica
ReplyDeleteDon't ask me... I recognise seagulls, pigeons, sparrows... that's all! But I like watching them!
ReplyDeleteI think it might be the blackbird or if speckled a little we call them grackles. I am on travel so don't have my book for scientific names!
ReplyDeleteI love to see them fly in groups!
ReplyDeleteAs for their name... I have no idea!
Kisses and hugs
Lorenza
Hello Sonia,
ReplyDeleteplease search for "Grackle" or "Quiscalus quiscula" and compare.
I believe your birds are grackles.
They are 32 cm (13 in) long
adult has a long dark bill, pale yellowish eyes and a long tail; its plumage is an iridescent black, or blue/purple on the head. The adult female is slightly smaller and less glossy.
I wish you and your family a very Happy Easter,
Gisela
Sonia, eu fico encantada com suas imagens.
ReplyDeleteO nome do pássaro eu nao sei nao.
Mas esse pavilhao com os bancos deve ser uma delicia sentar ali para jogar cartas, beber uma cerveja...
Bjao
I don't know what your little birds are called, but they seem to love your garden, so green and lush! Here in S Ontario, we have no green leaves or grass yet, but the promise of spring is in the air at last!
ReplyDeleteQue deliciosa sensação senti agora. Vontade de enorme de fugir para o campo. Adoro a vida urbana, mas as vezes é preciso reciclar, não é mesmo? Grande abraço
ReplyDeleteSonia, I enjoy so much these wonderful pictures! You live in such a charming and green landscape!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
So many of them! They look nice together.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!

They are just adorable...I LOVE that thry come in such a large group, too...Are they Crows? They look too small to be Crows, but...maybe they are small Crows...lol!
ReplyDeleteBTW: George Ehling's wife is from Brazil. (He is the man that created ALL the Mosaics on their house)....I haven't met them "in person" yet...So far, I have only spoken with him on the phone...!
ahhh it looks so peaceful there...

Buster sends you lots of wags of his tail.
