| Flamboyant Trees
Delonix
regia is a species of flowering plant in the
family Fabaceae, family Caesalpinioideae.
It is noted for its fern-like leaves and flamboyant display of flowers. In many
tropical parts of the world it is grown as an ornamental tree and in English it is given the name Royal
Poinciana or Flamboyant.
It is also one of several trees known as Flame tree. Delonix
regia is endemic to the western forests of
Madagascar, but has been introduced into tropical and sub-tropical regions
worldwide. It
also grows throughout southern Brazil, with ornamental trees in Rio Grande do
Sul.

é uma árvore da família das leguminosas (Fabaceae). É nativa da ilha

But just 1.5hrs away in Brisbane our state capital they are everywhere.
They give the city a feeling of graciousness.

ReplyDeleteAh, these glorious Poinciana trees grow here too Sonia - everywhere! and I never go near one - as a child we had one in our front yard and that is when we learned I am highly allergic to the leaves. I come out in the most horrendous HIVES!!! So very pretty to look at.................................... from afar for me!! :)
