LIFE AND DEATH OF A BEAUTIFUL TREE

I took this photo at my neighborhood, in July 2005. This beautiful tree was at this time vigorous and healthy. As a result of some root disease, the tree beginning to die.

Yesterday we had a day of violent gale and storm.

Unfortunately that tree was too weak and fell down after a day of very heavy winds and rains.

  9. Sonia,
    Beijos!

  14. Lovely story, or shall I say tribute to a beautiful tree. I also wrote about a tree in my blog today - very different from yours though.

  15. Very sad to read about your beautiful tree. Some winds are so strong, they topple even the the things that look invincible. Your skies look much like ours lately. A lot of wind and rain.

  17. Hi. I had a woman from Americana stay at my house here in Boston while she was trying to learn English. I have always had fond feelings for Brazil since then.

A própria Prefeitura é sempre a primeira a cortar as árvores.

  22. Trees give definition to a place. I remember when a tornado hit Charleston, SC several years ago and destroyed all the old oaks in the center of the town - the whole city mourned the loss.

But, Sonia ... you live in an awesomely lovely place - beautiful photos!

  23. Oh Sonia, I hate that happened. That poor tree! Oh mother nature can seem so cruel sometimes but I imagine she has her reasons.

  26. Oi,Sonia!
