The flower on my header and on the last photo, named Calliandra brevipes (Pink Powderpuff) is an attractive shrub with with finely divided leaves and clusters of red powder-puff flowers. It is native to southeastern Brazil, Uruguay and northern Argentina. In Portuguese common names include: Esponja, Esponjinha, Manduruvá. A flor no meu cabeçalho e na última foto é a Calliandra brevipes, também conhecida como Esponja, Esponjinha, Manduruvá. É uma espécie de arbusto sem espinhos, de até 2 metros de altura e muito ramificado do gênero Calliandra, subfamília Mimosoideae, família Fabaceae. ReplyDeleteThe flower in the header is really unique and beautful Sonia. It's such a charming country area and that final photo really invited me to take a walk and see where the road leads, it made me wonder what was at the end. A lovely shot!

So lovely. And as another commenter noted, I am sure it the pink powderpuff is the same as our mimosa. Mimosa is a pretty name, but I like Pink Powderpuff even more.
