Antônio Carlos Brasileiro de Almeida Jobim (January 25, 1927 – December 8, 1994), also known as Tom Jobim, was a Brazilian songwriter, composer, arranger, singer, and pianist and guitarist. He was a primary force behind the creation of the bossa nova style, and his songs have been performed by many singers and instrumentalists within Brazil and internationally. Widely known as the composer of "The Girl from Ipanema" (Garota de Ipanema), one of the most recorded songs of all time, Jobim has left a large number of songs that are today included in the standard Jazz and Pop repertoires.

  4. Adoro Insensatez! I love this style of music. It's so laidback and puts me in a happy place. Do you know I have a huge Brazilian playlist on my iPhone? And that's not counting capoeira songs! :) x

  7. What a treat, Sonia....I have always loved Jobim and his music, AND, I love the softness of his voice---it suits what he writes so beautifully---Such tenderness....

    The third video "crashed" almost at the very beginning...not sure why. But I'm going to go on YouTube to try to find it....I LOVE this particular song.....!
