ReplyDeletePoor fella must be tired of waiting for Santa to get up! What Diwali means to us in India is What Christmas means to you guys, Thankfully in India we get to celebrate both Diwali as well as Christmas... Wake up Santa where is my gift!! :) :)

Now that is so cute, I love it! It's almost getting me in the Christmas mood!
ReplyDeleteI love the way dogs curl up like doughnuts.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet pooch. I love his chocolate brown coloring. I hope Santa brings him lots of treats when they both wake up.
ReplyDeleteWho is going to wake up first?? ;-)

Beijos
Il attend pendant 364 jours... comme les vendeurs de muguet.
ReplyDeleteI think that Santa is saving his strength for all the hard work that he;ll be doing in a month's time.
ReplyDeleteCurled up like a bean. It's so sweet how a dog can tuck all his feet into one place underneath him.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this dog is waiting for Christmas or waiting for all the hubbub to be over!
Santa looks pooped and it's not even Thanksgiving yet! :) I am so curious where this is, that a dog is sleeping so peacefully in the middle of a store! Beautiful photo.
ReplyDeleteI have to say, that I got such enjoyment out of all your comments yesterday as you were visiting my blog. It took me back to a number of the old posts, reminding me of some I had almost forgotten!
Let me explain more about Katie. She was rescued by Animal Compassion Network, the group I volunteer with. Katie and Lucky lived at a "horrible" neglectful shelter for many years before the hurricane. These posts tell more about that story. http://ascratchbehindtheears.blogspot.com/2010/12/luckys-story-part-i.html and http://ascratchbehindtheears.blogspot.com/2010/12/luckys-story-part-ii.html
I volunteer at Animal Compassion Network, so somehow it became known that I had rescued Katie's brother. When Katie's owner (the one who adopted her in 2004) had to move to Arizona this year, and had to give up Katie, she took her back to Animal Compassion Network. They knew that I still had Lucky, so..... a happy ending to what could have been a very sad story. I still think Katie misses her former owner. You wish you could explain to them what happened. But, many people say that dogs live in the moment, and do not think of the past, so perhaps I worry about that more than she does. But, she does seem happy here, so that is good!
Thanks again for visiting my blog, and for all the kind comments!
I love it! What a beautiful dog... reminds me very much of three of ours.
ReplyDeleteChristmas will be here before we know it, Sonia!

ReplyDeleteI like this contrast, Sonia
ReplyDeleteoh that's a cute doggie and a great shot. I'm surprised she didn't wake when you snapped the shutter. thanks for stopping by my blog and saying hello, I truly appreciate that. happy day to you!
ReplyDeleteI finally had time tonight to catch up on my blog reading! I LOVED those rescue stories, and how wonderful that they featured you and Flora. I wrote a comment thanking that person for writing such an article that is likely to encourage others to consider adopting a rescued pet - but then couldn't post it because you have to create an account to comment. Sonia, have you ever heard of the book Dogs and Their Women? It is a wonderful book, one of my favorites - very simple, with photos and captions or short stories. Here's the link, I think used copies are available for cheap. http://www.amazon.com/Dogs-Their-Women-Louise-Taylor/dp/0316150363
ReplyDeleteAlso, if you'd ever be interested, I would love for you to do a "guest post" on my blog about your Flora. Just something that would describe what a special dog she was/is to you, with a photo. It could be light-hearted in nature, something about her that is a fun memory, or something more serious. What do you think?
If I were that doggie I would not like that huge Santa at my back... smile.
ReplyDeleteComo só vi a foto hoje, acho que ele adormeceu de cansaço por tanto trabalho! A idade não perdôa! Linda foto!
