We have a similar tree here---It is called a "Cotton Tree"...there are those thorns on the trunk and these lovely "balls" of white, when it is in Bloom....Yours are HUGE!!!

In the West Indies I believe they have a tree similar to these--called a silk cotton tree. I can't wait to see this tree bloom. I am told these trees are very special and are not found everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI love trees. I was in a mini forest out on Long Island this past week. There were some everygreens--the smell and feel of the woods is energizing and wonderful.
This is a magnificent-looking tree, even without its leaves.

One of my favorite trees. And up here, north of the equator, ours are in full foliage. Such a curious trunk, too. Thorny and swollen.

ReplyDeleteMe lembro que a primeira vez que vi uma árvore sem folhas chorei. Ai, aprendi que tudo isso é o preparo para atravessar o inverno. Que nesse período a árvore está interiormente em pleno vigos trabalhando para novas folhas.
