My dearest and beloved friend FLORA unfortunately was diagnosed with bebesiosis, a tick's disease in June 21. Babesia is a protozoan parasite of the blood that causes a hemolytic disease. Flora was treating with antibiotic and another drugs. Flora did also ultrasonography, X-Ray and finally she took serum and blood transfusion. But Flora's organism was very debilitate in function of the babesiosis and also because she was almost 14 years old. I am so sad and devastated to write that my dear Flora unfortunately pass away 2:40 last Thursday.
ReplyDeleteMinha querida e muito amada amiga FLORA infelizmente foi diagnosticada com babesiose, a doença do carrapato em 21 de junho. A Babesiose é uma doença parasitária e seu agente transmissor é o carrapato, que parasita e destrói as células sanguíneas do animal causando anemia podendo, inclusive, levá-lo à morte. Flora foi tratada com antibiótico e outros remédios. Flora fez também ultrasonografia, Raio-X e finalmente tomou soro e fez transfusão de sangue. Mas o seu organismo estava muito debilitado em função da babesiose e também por ser idosa, pois ela ia fazer 14 anos. Eu estou tristíssima e inconsolável ao escrever que Flora não resistiu a doença e morreu às 2:40 de terça-feira passada.

Dear Sonia. I am so sorry to hear of Flora's passing. She brought you so much joy and friendship, and by association she brought the same to me. I loved seeing photos of Flora at your home. Lembro-me que quando iniciava por esse universo de blogs e deparei com fotos suas ou de sua filha (nao lembro bem) o que mais me marcou foi o passeio pela estrada com a Flora por perto. Fiquei logo encantada por ela e pelas fotos.
Mas todo ser vivente nasce e morre, é uma certeza que temos, portanto precisamos estar sempre preparados também pra perder nossos amigos animais - esse amor continuará .

ReplyDeleteI am with you for your sorry and understand it perfect. It took four years , when I was able to think a new dog after our 14 years old dog died. Now this "new2 dog is 10 years old and I don`t even want to think her dying. she has been very healthy and I hope she will be still many years.
Our president`s cat died this week and it was a big new in newspapers :) It made me smile, it was somehow so touching in the middle of financial and political news.
I wish you rewarding weekend anyway Sonia.

Lovely post about Flora. I think we do have "heart" dogs -- Wolfgang was mine -- we love each of our pets but one will simply reach out and latch onto our hearts in a way that no other does. Wolfie died three dogs ago, but I still miss him every hour of every day. I'm very sure that no living thing will ever love me the way that wolfie did and I was blessed to have in my life. I'm glad to have seen a picture of Flora

ReplyDeleteOh, your Flora looks so sweet. The expression on her face does remind me of Katie. I am so sorry for your loss. It is so hard to lose our furry family members who have been a part of our lives - it always seems to me that they just don't live long enough! I lost my beloved Jessie at age 13 and 1 month, and even though she died in 2004, I still think of her often. Hugs to you, from someone who understands!
ReplyDeleteSonia, só hoje tomei coragem para ler seu post. Faz já 7 anos que Pepino, nosso honorável viralatas que nos acompanhou por 12 anos, também se foi. E até agora me engasgo quando revejo suas fotos e conversamos sobre suas peripécias , como adorar bombom, "falar" com a gente e tomar solzinho na janela do meu quarto. Então, não tenho o que falar sobre a ida de Flora para um lugar que almejo se reúnam todos os nossos afetos caninos e felinos e que um dia voltaremos a nos rever.
