PAPER SCULPTURE... ESCULTURA EM PAPEL...















Anna-Wili Highfield is a Sydney (Australia) based artist currently making sculptures of birds and animals from paper and from copper pipe. The paper sculptures are created from archival cotton paper, that is painted, then sewn together, to create the figure of beautiful birds and animals. Anna-Wili was born in 1980. The daughter of a puppeteer, she spent her childhood exposed to people making wonderful creatures. Anna-Wili has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Art School. Her sculptures have travelled to the homes of people in Sydney, Melbourne, Paris, London, Toronto and New York. You can visit her site Here.
Anna-Wili Highfield é um artista de Sydney (Austrália) que atualmente cria esculturas de aves e animais usando papel e tubos de cobre. As esculturas são realizadas a partir de papel de algodão, que são pintados, costurados, dando forma a belos pássaros e animais. Anna-Wili nasceu em 1980, filha de uma criadora de marionetes, tendo passado a sua infância em contato com talentosos artistas. Anna-Wili é Bacharel em Artes Plásticas pela Escola Nacional de Arte.     goodness, that must take some effort. looks so fiddly! wonder what that scupture is, that's over her head. can't make the animal out, but looks interesting.
