PURPLE GLORY TREE IN MY GARDEN... QUARESMEIRA NO MEU JARDIM...

This gorgeous Brazilian native tree is Tibouchina granulosa (Purple Glory Tree, Quaresmeira in Portuguese) a large family of tropical shrubs. Tibouchina is a genus of about 350 species of neotropical plants in the family Melastomataceae. They are trees, shrubs or subshrubs growing 0.5–25 m tall, and are known as Purple Glory Tree.

    They are flowering here too.
    Aren't they lovely?
They always remind me of my late Grandmother - the family called her by the nickname "Tib".
