Sonia thank you for your visits to Forest Walk.s. All the ponies in the forest are semi wild. They belong to the commonners who live in the forest but they run wild and are only rounded up in the autumn for health checks and some of the ponies are sold at this time.
great pictures, sonia! such beautiful birds! i haven't seen a real owl since i was very little- one used to sit on the electrical pole just outside my grandmother's house:)
I've been a lazy blogwalker lately and I'm so glad I just visited. All your beautiful flora and fauna--it really seems like a little bit of heaven. What is your weather like right now? Looks warm. Have you ever read the little novella called "I Heard the Owl Call My Name?" In American Indian folklore, the owl calling means death is near. I choose not to believe this, but it was a lovely story.
This is just the coolest thing! Looks like you may have a permanent visitor! I've never seen an owl up this close (besides in a zoo) -- although we do sometimes hear them at night. What a great treat for you!
Sonia-- Such great photographs! That one with the owl flying is just incredible. We never see owls here, so it is a fine treat to see the ones where you are. Wonderful.
Thanks Sonia for visiting my blog earlier and inviting me to yours...It's a great blog and I'm trying to catch up on reading it since moving to a new home in a whole new province. Great pictures of the owl. I'll be updating my site soon with some photos of my home and it's "country/primitive" decor. We're still knee deep in boxes and need to hang more of my things up on the walls before I'll post anything..LOL Thanks again.
What great photo's...How cool that your husband captured this pretty Owl in flight, as well as at rest! I'm here from Michele's this afternoon and it's my first time visiting someone in Brazil! A first for me and to see some Beazilian Owls, too...All I can say is...WOW!!!! And, I'll be back again!
Wonderful pictures of the owls!
