This gorgeous tree beside my house is the "Ipê Rosa" (Tabebuia pentaphylla). It may be seen called Pink Poui-Rosea or just Pink Trumpet Tree. Pink Tabebuia will bloom on and off through all the warm months and into the fall for larger trees. Some trees lose most of their leaves prior to blooming. Tabebuia consists of about 20 species and occurs in practically every Latin American country.

Sonia, welcome to Blogland. I saw your link at Lorianne's and copied it. Your home and that tree are gorgeous. My daughter-in-law spent a year in Brazil as an exchange student and she went back last year for a visit. She would move to Brazil if she could!
ReplyDeleteSonia,
ReplyDeleteIt's fantastic that you are now blogging. I love your big pink tree. We had something similar at my mother's house which we sold last year. It was a tulip magnolia. You can see pictures of it at:

ReplyDeleteOi Sonia,
ReplyDeleteI have many photos of the blomming Ipê tree I took in Londrina, PR last winter 2005. I never saw a tree bloom in winter and without leaves until I saw the Ipê. Very beautiful.
Thank you so much Harvey for your visiting and compliment. Did you have a blog or a site? May I have your http?
